Following the successful launching of its inaugural long-term exchange program in collaboration with Warmadewa University, Cagayan State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization, launched the second framework of its exchange program today, December 12, 2024.
In partnership with Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies, India and Singsoft Pte. Ltd, Singapore, the international convocation series on Applied Science and Technology (ICAST) is focused on creating a collaborative platform where academia, industry practitioners, community leaders and members, students and researchers can converge, tackling new and advancing technology and innovation, facets vital for sustainable economic growth and social development.
In his message, OIC University President Dr. Arthur Ibañez, extended his gratitude to the university’s partner university and industry, highlighted the importance of academe-industry collaboration honoring the unified action towards harnessing the potential of science and technology, “with the demands of the contemporary world, our dedication to S & T innovation and research must be unwavering as we work to discover long-term solutions that benefit all humankind. Let us dedicate ourselves to the responsible use of science and technology, making sure that our efforts reflect the principles of sustainability and equity,” he stated.
The Red Framework was conceptualized and organized by Dr. Ana Marie Cauilan, Vice President for Internationalization, Partnership and Resource Mobilization, and implemented by Internationalization Director Kristinne A. Lara, with contributions from College of Engineering and Architecture Dean Dr. JM Casibang, College of Information and Computing Sciences Dean, Dr. Gener Siddayao, College of Industrial Technology Dean, Bryan T. Lacambra ,and Rev. Dr. Gimmi Akattu and Ms. Meena Komban from Yuvakshetra Institute of Management Studies, India, along with other deans from CICS and CIT who served as facilitators for the event.
The convocation is filled with a series of plenary sessions, lectures, panel discussions, case studies, research collaborations and mentorship focused on addressing and adapting to rapid technological advancements and evolving job market, aligning educational institutions to equip students and faculty with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in applied science and technology.
