Policy Statement

CSU Sustainability Commitment

Cagayan State University commits to advancing sustainable development through responsible academic, research, extension, administrative, and operational practices that protect the environment, strengthen communities, promote inclusion, and support long-term institutional resilience.

Purpose

CSU shall promote sustainability as a core consideration in instruction, research, extension, production, administration, and campus operations.

Framework Alignment

University sustainability initiatives shall be mapped, where applicable, to the UN SDGs and UI GreenMetric criteria for planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Responsible Resource Use

CSU shall encourage efficient use of energy, water, materials, land, facilities, and digital systems while reducing waste and environmental impact.

Inclusive Participation

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, partners, and communities shall be encouraged to participate in sustainability education, activities, research, and service.

Evidence and Reporting

Offices and campuses shall document relevant initiatives, outputs, partnerships, and outcomes to support transparent sustainability reporting.

Continuous Improvement

CSU shall periodically review sustainability practices and identify improvements based on data, stakeholder feedback, policy updates, and emerging needs.
